Downtown Detroit

After a short trip at the Eastern Market I wanted to show downtown Detroit to Bridget.

When talking to people outside the US about Detroit, they very often have the picture of a broken down city, that is dangerous and down in the ashes.

To make it short: it’s not.

Detroit downtown changed a lot in the 10 years I come here.

We parked at the MGM and began our own walking tour (similar to a tour Roman and Sabine gave me a couple of years back).

Starting at the Fox Theater and Comerica Park

Walking down Woodward towards Campus Martius. Having nachos with citrus guacamole at …

At the end of our trip in Greektown, we took a ride with the iconic people mover.

Our train broke down at Cobo Hall, but the next train brought us back towards the MGM.

Finally on the way back to the car we passed one of the many Oktoberfests around here.
