On our way up north we had a lot of distance to cover.
So after the breakfast with bread from Crispelli’s, we started driving straight up north.
We left the interstate only for a quick through Frankenmuth - the authentic German city in Michigan, just that it isn’t.
After around 300 miles we reached Machinaw City, which was supposed to be our base for the first three days.
It’s strategically located at where Lake Michigan meets and Lake Huron. It’s also the start of the bridge that connects the lower and upper peninsula of Michigan and the harbor for the Ferry to Mackinac Island.
